Guest Service Agent – Front Office

About the role

The Guest Service Agent works at the front desk of a hotel, welcoming guests, handling registrations, and ensuring a smooth and pleasant stay. This position requires a strong focus on customer service, accurate cash handling, and coordination with housekeeping and other departments.

Key responsibilities

• Register guests, assign rooms, and accommodate special requests.
• Assist with pre‑registration, room blocking, and same‑day reservations.
• Process check‑ins, check‑outs, and all related cashier functions, including posting charges and foreign‑currency exchange.
• Maintain accurate room status, communicate updates to housekeeping, and handle maintenance requests.
• Use suggestive selling techniques to promote rooms and hotel services.
• Handle telephone operations, including incoming/outgoing calls, wake‑up calls, and PABX switchboard management.
• Inform guests about amenities, safe, minibar, and room‑key procedures.
• Coordinate with bell staff for luggage handling and ensure front‑desk area cleanliness.
• Report unusual occurrences to management and follow safety and emergency procedures.

Required profile

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to follow credit, cash‑handling, and security policies.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts as business demands change.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Opera property‑management system.
• Experience operating a PABX telephone switchboard.
