Guest Service Assistant

About the role

C Mauritius, part of Constance Hospitality Management, is looking for a Guest Service Assistant for its front office. The role covers check-in, check-out, guest registration, luggage handling and liaison with concierge, airlines and agencies, and includes covering other front office positions when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome guests on arrival, verify vouchers against reservations and handle special requests on the arrival list.
• Prepare registration cards and keys, update guest information in Opera, and liaise with the concierge for luggage delivery and collection.
• Follow up with airlines and agencies on lost luggage, reconfirm airline tickets for direct guests and follow up on agency queries.
• Print and attach the next-day departure bill to the departure letter, clear checkout docket and prepare the departure control sheet.
• Deliver parcels and messages on time, sort and fill guest bills from outlets, and liaise with resort departments to keep operations smooth.
• Handle guest complaints professionally, record them, and report unusual occurrences to shift leaders and supervisors.
• Keep the front desk and back offices clean, maintain personal hygiene and appearance, and respect the shift roster.
• Check handovers, memo files and checklists at the end of each shift, and promote the upselling of hotel products and services.
• Adhere to grooming, code of conduct, occupational safety and health, and environmental policies, and take part in training when requested.

Required profile

• A minimum of 2 years' experience in the hospitality industry in a similar position.
• SC holder or equivalent.
• National Trade Certificate Level 3.
• Fluent in English and French, spoken and written.
• Team player with a flexible approach to work.
