Head of Primary School

About the role

Northfields International School is seeking an experienced and inspiring Head of Primary School to lead its IB Primary Years Programme. The successful candidate will join the senior management team in August 2026 and be responsible for the overall operation, academic excellence, and wellbeing of the primary community.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily operations of the Primary School.
• Drive high standards in teaching, learning, curriculum delivery and student outcomes.
• Support, coach and develop staff through effective leadership and appraisal processes.
• Promote a positive, inclusive learning environment with strong safeguarding and wellbeing.
• Contribute to whole‑school strategic planning as a senior leader.
• Monitor student progress, assessment data and interventions to support achievement.
• Ensure compliance with IB, CIS and school policies and accreditation requirements.
• Build strong relationships with parents and the wider school community.
• Oversee staffing, operational planning and budgeting for the Primary School.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in an international primary school setting.
• Deep knowledge of the IB Primary Years Programme and related accreditation standards.
• Strong commitment to holistic student development and safeguarding.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with staff, parents and partners.
