Health & Safety Consultant – Occupational Safety Officer

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) Officer to help organisations maintain safe, compliant, and efficient workplaces. The role involves implementing safety programmes, conducting inspections, managing compliance activities, and fostering a strong safety culture across multiple industries.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct workplace inspections, audits and safety assessments.
• Perform risk assessments and identify hazards in operational environments.
• Develop, implement and monitor safety policies, procedures and safe work practices.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, near‑misses and non‑conformities, recommending corrective actions.
• Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks and awareness sessions.
• Monitor compliance with OSH legislation, industry standards and ISO management systems (ISO 45001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001).
• Maintain safety records, registers, reports and compliance documentation.
• Support emergency preparedness, fire safety, evacuation planning and business continuity.
• Prepare professional reports and present findings to management and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Management, Engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of OSH legislation and workplace compliance requirements.
• Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and incident investigation techniques.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments.
• Valid driving licence.
