Health, Safety & Environment Officer (HSE)

About the role

CEAL Ltd is seeking a proactive Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Officer to drive compliance and foster a strong safety culture across its operations. The successful candidate will support continuous improvement initiatives and ensure that all statutory HSE requirements are met.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain full compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and legal regulations.
• Ensure CEAL Ltd meets all statutory health, safety, and environmental obligations.
• Review and update risk assessments for equipment, activities, and processes.
• Investigate, document, and report accidents, incidents, and near‑misses, implementing corrective actions.
• Conduct regular site inspections, HSE audits, and fire drills.
• Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks, safety campaigns, and training sessions.
• Coordinate Health and Safety Committees in line with the Occupational Safety and Health Act 2005.
• Liaise with authorities to maintain fire certificates, factory registration, and other statutory documents.
• Identify PPE needs, manage procurement and distribution.
• Plan and oversee health surveillance programmes.
• Monitor HSE performance indicators and promote continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Management or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in an HSE role.
• Experience in agricultural, construction or workshop environments is advantageous.
• Good knowledge of the Occupational Safety and Health Act 2005 and relevant regulations.
• Strong communication, organisational and report‑writing abilities.
• Ability to work independently and interact with all employee levels.
• Proactive, hands‑on, solution‑oriented mindset.
• Valid driving licence.
