Human Resources Manager

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Human Resources Manager to provide comprehensive HR support for the Butterfield Group, primarily focusing on our operations in Mauritius while also covering other jurisdictions as needed. The role involves partnering with business leaders to drive people initiatives, ensure compliance, and enhance employee experience.

Key responsibilities

• Support organisational development, resourcing, best practices and performance improvement.
• Act as an HR advisor to business units and manage stakeholder relationships.
• Oversee employee relations and recruitment across all levels.
• Lead salary surveys and job mapping exercises, providing accurate data to the business.
• Manage onboarding, exit processes and feedback loops.
• Administer internal and external training programmes.
• Respond to audit requests and ensure GDPR‑compliant document handling.
• Update local HR policies and procedures.
• Assist HR Operations with LSAs, payroll and other HR projects.
• Provide coverage for HR administrators and workspace management.

Required profile

• Relevant HR qualification.
• Minimum 3 years experience in an HR Officer or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of local employment legislation.
• High level of numeracy, literacy and discretion.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
• Ability to analyse problems and propose data‑driven solutions.
