Hydroblasting Technician

About the role

The Hydroblasting Technician will operate, maintain, and repair Ultra High Pressure (UHP) hydroblasting machines for a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role demands strong mechanical aptitude, self‑sufficiency, and adherence to safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate UHP hydroblasting machines safely to clean surfaces according to project specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Repair and fabricate replacement parts to minimize downtime.
• Complete manufacturer‑provided training and follow all safety and compliance protocols.
• Maintain detailed maintenance and repair records for audit purposes.
• Work independently, identifying potential issues and implementing preventative solutions.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years experience operating and maintaining high‑pressure hydroblasting equipment.
• Technical training or certification for UHP hydroblasting machines (provided if needed).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to fabricate parts.
• Ability to work independently and pass contract medical requirements.
