Import Specialist – End-to-End Import Operations

About the role

The Import Specialist will manage the complete import process for sea and air freight shipments, ensuring timely delivery, compliance with customs regulations, and cost efficiency. The role involves close collaboration with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate sea and air freight imports, handling bookings, documentation, and shipment tracking.
• Monitor vessel and flight schedules and liaise with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and transport agencies to secure timely, cost‑effective deliveries.
• Prepare, review, and submit import documents such as commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading/AWBs, certificates of origin, HS code classifications, and insurance certificates.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations, trade laws, sanctions, and company policies, supporting internal and external audits.
• Assist finance with landed‑cost calculations, duty payments, accruals, and claim recoveries.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Business or a related field.
• 2 to 5 years of hands‑on experience in import logistics, trade compliance, or supply‑chain coordination.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of sea and air freight operations.
• Expertise in HS code classification and Incoterms.
• Customs clearance procedures and trade documentation preparation.
• Experience liaising with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers.
