In-House Lawyer

About the role

Join the Legal SBU of MCB, the in‑house legal department serving the bank’s business units and the wider MCB Group. As an In‑House Lawyer you will act as a trusted business partner, delivering practical, solution‑oriented legal advice and helping manage legal and regulatory risk.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clear, pragmatic legal advice on a broad range of banking and finance matters.
• Support transactional, advisory and strategic initiatives across multiple business lines.
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts and various legal documents for MCB and its group entities.
• Advise on the legal and regulatory implications of the bank’s products, services and commercial offerings.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and cross‑functional teams to achieve commercially sound outcomes.
• Identify, assess and escalate legal and regulatory risks, recommending mitigation measures.
• Manage relationships with local and international external counsel, ensuring efficient use of panel firms and control of legal spend.
• Contribute to the development and standardisation of legal frameworks, documentation and best practices within the Legal SBU.

Required profile

• Law degree or LLM with a focus on banking & finance, corporate law or private equity.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in the banking/financial services legal sector, either in law firms or corporate legal departments.
• Proven ability to handle complex legal matters, including cross‑border issues.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with a results‑driven mindset.
• Integrity, honesty and the ability to build trust with stakeholders.
