About the role
Join the culinary team at a boutique beachfront hotel in Mauritius, supporting experienced chefs in delivering high‑quality dishes while upholding the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain a clean and organised workstation, adhering to food safety, hygiene regulations and allergen protocols.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently during service.
- Monitor food storage, manage inventory and ensure proper rotation and storage of ingredients.
- Support experienced chefs in the preparation and cooking of high‑quality dishes.
- Collaborate with team members to sustain workflow and overall kitchen efficiency.
Required profile
- Minimum NC 3 in Food Production or an equivalent qualification.
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar kitchen commis position.
- Detail‑oriented with a strong focus on hygiene and safety.
- Team player who can work effectively in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.
Required skills
- Food safety and hygiene compliance.
- Kitchen equipment operation.
- Inventory management and stock rotation.
