Kitchen Helper – Hotel Kitchen Support

About the role

Join the culinary team at Constance Le Chaland, a luxury resort on Mauritius' south‑eastern coast. As a Kitchen Helper you will support chefs and kitchen staff in delivering high‑quality meals while maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Food preparation support: wash, peel and cut vegetables and fruits, assist in preparing ingredients, portion and arrange food items, and support chefs during meal preparation and service.
• Cleaning and sanitation: wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans and kitchen equipment; clean and sanitize work surfaces, floors, storage areas and equipment; ensure compliance with health, safety and hygiene standards; dispose of waste and recyclables according to procedures.
• Stock handling: receive and store food supplies and deliveries; organize storage areas and maintain cleanliness; report shortages, damages or expired products; assist with inventory checks when required.
• General support: follow all food safety and hygiene regulations; adhere to company policies and procedures; assist with other kitchen duties as assigned; work cooperatively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.

Required profile

• Basic knowledge of kitchen hygiene and food safety practices.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with good physical stamina.
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking; Food Handlers certificate mandatory.
