Legal and Compliance Officer

About the role

CIEL Properties Development Ltd is seeking an experienced Legal and Compliance Officer to support its growing property portfolio. The role combines legal advisory, compliance oversight, and data protection responsibilities across the Ferney and Evolis property clusters.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal support to management and business units, including reviewing and drafting contracts, leases, and agreements.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments in Mauritius and advise on their impact.
• Act as Lead Data Protection Officer, Compliance Officer, and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for designated entities.
• Ensure compliance with AML/CFT, data privacy, and other applicable laws and regulations.
• Develop and maintain compliance policies, procedures, risk assessments, and deliver related training.
• Support regulatory inspections, audits, compliance reporting, and Board reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in legal and compliance functions, preferably in a regulated environment.
• Knowledge of Mauritian legal and regulatory frameworks.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion.
