Logistics Assistant – Customs & Crew Coordination

About the role

The Logistics Assistant will oversee customs clearance activities across Port Agency, Offshore, Liner and SCS business streams and support crew changes when customs work is low. The role ensures compliance with Mauritian regulations and contributes to operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end customs clearance for port agency and cargo operations.
• Liaise with ministries to obtain import, export and landing permits.
• Monitor and renew customs licences, permits and bank guarantees.
• Inform the business of changes to customs legislation.
• Prepare estimates and provide operational support for customs activities.
• Perform crew changes and assist during periods of reduced customs activity.
• Ensure compliance with ISS Global Quality Management System procedures and SOPs.
• Contribute to local quality objectives, KPIs and overall operational excellence.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of experience in customs logistics or a similar role.
• Knowledge of statutory documentary requirements for consignments to/from Mauritius.
• Familiarity with Incoterms, HS Codes, MACCS and MNS.
• Strong administrative, communication and organisational abilities.
• Fluent in English and French.
• Valid driving licence.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with internal computer systems for customs processing.
