Lorry Driver – Bulk Gas Delivery

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Lorry Driver to deliver bulk and packaged gas products safely and on time. You will operate specialized heavy‑goods vehicles, handle gas cylinders, and provide professional service to our clients. The role requires strict adherence to safety and regulatory standards while maintaining accurate delivery records.

Key responsibilities

• Plan optimal routes and safely drive both heavy bulk liquid tankers and flatbed cylinder lorries to client sites.
• Securely load gas cylinders, operate pumps and hoses, and perform bulk gas transfers following safety protocols.
• Utilize smartphones, tablets or handheld POS terminals to record deliveries, update logs, generate client invoices and capture signatures.
• Collect cash or cheque payments directly at the client’s location, verify amounts and store them safely in the truck’s safe.
• Conduct daily pre‑trip inspections of vehicle fluids, brakes, tyres, pressure gauges and specialised gas delivery equipment.
• Comply with the Mauritius Road Traffic Act and international dangerous‑goods transport standards throughout each journey.
• Interact professionally with clients, verify delivery notes and obtain customer signatures on each delivery.
• Execute emergency safety protocols immediately in the event of a gas leak, spill or vehicle breakdown.
• Maintain accurate daily logs, update monthly mileage records and arrange regular cleaning and maintenance services for the vehicle.

Required profile

• Minimum education of Form 3 (equivalent to high school completion).
• At least one year of experience delivering inflammable products, preferably gas.
• A valid Heavy Goods Vehicle driving licence is mandatory.

• POS terminal operation (smartphone/tablet based).
