Material Expeditor

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Material Expeditor to support a unique U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role ensures timely delivery of materials, tools, and supplies needed for operational support, coordinating closely with procurement, warehousing, and project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials, tools, and supplies across departments.
• Track shipments and deliveries to guarantee on‑schedule receipt of required items.
• Verify material requests for accuracy and alignment with operational needs.
• Communicate with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams to resolve delays or shortages.
• Maintain and update inventory records and procurement systems.
• Inspect shipments for condition and compliance with order specifications.
• Report damaged or defective materials and ensure prompt resolution.
• Collaborate with logistics and warehouse personnel for proper handling and storage.
• Prepare reports on material usage, delivery timelines, and inventory levels.
• Monitor and improve expediting processes to meet contractual and efficiency goals.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of experience in material handling, expediting, or supply‑chain operations.
• Familiarity with logistics, procurement, inventory management, and warehousing principles.
• Ability to track, manage, and report material status in a fast‑paced environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong communication and organizational abilities.
• Detail‑oriented problem‑solving skills.
• Valid passport and ability to travel internationally.

Required skills

• Proficiency with inventory tracking software.
• Experience using ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems.
• Basic database usage for material status reporting.
