Medical Receptionist – Front Desk for Busy Specialty Clinic

About the role

We are seeking a reliable, patient‑focused Medical Receptionist to join a busy specialty clinic. This full‑time position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced healthcare environment, enjoys frequent patient interaction, and can manage a high volume of calls with professionalism.

Key responsibilities

• Answer incoming patient calls, manage voicemails, and minimize callbacks.
• Schedule new and existing appointments accurately using eClinicalWorks (ECW).
• Perform basic insurance eligibility checks and confirm accepted plans during calls.
• Support front‑desk workflows, including patient check‑in and check‑out tasks as needed.
• Assist on‑site clinic staff by reducing their administrative workload.
• Maintain professionalism and efficiency while assisting patients over the phone.

Required profile

• Prior U.S. healthcare experience as a medical front‑desk coordinator or receptionist.
• Hands‑on experience with electronic health record (EHR) scheduling, preferably ECW.
• Strong spoken English and professional phone etiquette.
• Comfortable communicating with older patients and delivering excellent customer service.
• Ability to work in a high‑volume, fast‑paced call environment.
• Capability to follow SOPs and maintain accuracy under pressure.
