Medium Truck Driver

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Medium Truck Driver to support its operations on the island of Diego Garcia. You will be responsible for safely transporting goods, tools, and equipment across the base while complying with all safety and traffic regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Operate medium‑duty trucks to move materials and equipment efficiently within the operational area.
• Load, unload, and secure cargo in accordance with safety standards.
• Conduct daily pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections and report any issues.
• Maintain accurate driver logs, inspection reports, and delivery records.
• Follow planned routes and adhere to pickup and delivery schedules.
• Perform minor maintenance such as checking fluid levels, tire condition, and lights.
• Communicate with supervisors, dispatchers, and operational teams to coordinate transportation needs.

Required profile

• Minimum two (2) years of experience driving medium‑duty trucks in an operational or industrial setting.
• Valid driver’s license with appropriate endorsements for medium‑duty vehicles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read maps, delivery instructions, and safety guidelines.
• English proficiency sufficient for contract requirements and emergency procedures.
• Valid passport (minimum one year) and ability to obtain required visas.

Required skills

• Vehicle inspection procedures (pre‑trip and post‑trip).
• Basic vehicle maintenance (fluid checks, tire and light inspections).
• Secure cargo handling and loading techniques.
