Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) – Mauritius

About the role

Bitget is seeking a qualified Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) to lead its AML/CFT compliance function in Mauritius. The MLRO will operate independently, reporting directly to the Board and ensuring adherence to local regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the designated MLRO, overseeing AML/CFT controls including KYC, CDD, EDD, sanctions screening and transaction monitoring.
• Independently assess and report suspicious transactions to the FIU Mauritius, maintaining complete and auditable records.
• Provide regular updates to the Board on material AML/CFT risks, deficiencies and regulatory matters.
• Lead AML/CFT risk assessments, compliance monitoring, incident management and remediation activities.
• Maintain independence from commercial influence and ensure confidentiality of investigations.
• Serve as the primary contact with the FIU, FSC, auditors and other relevant stakeholders.

Required profile

• Mauritius resident with strong practical knowledge of FIAMLA, FIAML regulations, FSC AML/CFT requirements and FIU reporting.
• Professional qualification in AML/CFT, compliance, finance, law or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in investment dealing, securities, banking or regulated financial services, or at least 3 years with an AML/CFT certification such as ACAMS, ICA, FSI.
• Demonstrated independent judgement, analytical and investigative skills with effective challenge and decision‑making.
• Strong communication abilities to engage with senior management, the Board, FSC and FIU Mauritius.
