Operations Associate – Client Onboarding & Trade Execution

About the role

The Operations Associate will support the full lifecycle of operational processes in our Mauritius office, working closely with Front Office, Compliance and external custodians to ensure activities meet internal policies and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end onboarding for high‑net‑worth individuals and institutional clients, ensuring smooth and timely account openings.
• Review and validate KYC documentation against internal policies and AML regulations, coordinating with Relationship Managers and Compliance to resolve gaps.
• Maintain accurate client registers and CRM data, facilitating account openings with external custodians.
• Support periodic reviews and KYC refreshes within regulatory timelines, updating client profiles and escalating delays.
• Validate client balances and margin before trade execution, confirm trade suitability and obtain client order confirmations.
• Liaise with custodians or aggregators to place orders, verify execution terms and share final trade confirmations with clients and the MIS team.
• Ensure all onboarding and operational procedures comply with Conduct of Business and AML requirements.
• Maintain comprehensive records for internal controls, regulatory reporting and audit inspections.
• Assist with internal and external audits, implementing corrective measures as advised.
• Track and report key metrics such as fee income, trade volumes, onboarding pipeline and high‑risk client logs.
• Prepare regular reports for management, compliance and regulatory review.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in KYC, AML, client onboarding or client administration within a financial services environment.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders, including Front Office, Compliance and external custodians.
