Policy and Data Internship – UN Resident Coordinator System

About the role

The UN Resident Coordinator System in Mauritius and Seychelles is seeking a motivated intern to support policy research, data analysis and advocacy activities. This six‑month internship offers a unique chance to learn how the UN system operates at the country level and to contribute to the implementation of the UNSDCF 2024‑2028.

Key responsibilities

• Collect quantitative and qualitative data from surveys, databases and reports.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency and proper formatting for analysis.
• Analyze data using tools such as Excel, SPSS or Python and produce charts, graphs and insights.
• Conduct policy research, draft policy briefs and support advocacy events.
• Assist with communications and visibility actions, including social‑media content.
• Report to the Data Management Officer and the RCO Team Leader.

Required profile

• Strong interest in UN development work and policy analysis.
• Enrolled in or recent graduate of a relevant university program.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
