Public Area Supervisor

About the role

The Public Area Supervisor ensures that all public spaces of the hotel – lobbies, corridors, lounges and service areas – are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation and guest service. Reporting to the Housekeeping Manager, the role combines operational oversight with guest interaction to deliver an exceptional first impression.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and supervise Public Area staff to guarantee spotless lobbies, corridors, toilets and lounges in line with Constance Hotels standards.
• Respond promptly to guest queries and complaints, ensuring swift resolution.
• Conduct regular inspections of assigned sections, verify completion of work sheets, and submit hand‑over reports to the evening Housekeeping team.
• Coordinate with the office coordinator and reception on room discrepancies and re‑letting readiness.
• Oversee equipment storage, key control, and loss‑property reporting.
• Report and follow up on any equipment breakdowns or maintenance issues.
• Maintain appropriate staffing levels, monitor productivity targets and staff morale.
• Participate in housekeeping meetings, provide input, and implement special instructions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in supervising housekeeping or public‑area teams within a hotel environment.
• Strong customer‑service orientation with the ability to handle guest concerns efficiently.
• Leadership skills to motivate staff, enforce standards and manage performance.
• Excellent communication skills for coordination with reception, office staff and management.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
