Risk & Compliance Officer

About the role

The Risk & Compliance Officer will support Safyr Utilis' Risk & Compliance team and staff on all matters related to risk management, regulatory compliance and anti‑money‑laundering (AML) initiatives. The role ensures that internal processes are followed, controls are effective, and regulatory obligations are met.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining an AML/CFT program that complies with current regulations.
• Support the Senior Risk & Compliance Officer and Risk & Compliance Manager in delivering risk and compliance services.
• Develop, update and manage company policies and risk registers.
• Conduct testing, file reviews, and design risk and compliance reporting formats.
• Participate in onboarding, ongoing screening, and transaction monitoring activities.
• Maintain internal risk & compliance tools and regulatory watch lists.
• Undertake ad‑hoc risk and compliance projects as assigned.
• Assist in training employees on compliance‑related topics.

Required profile

• Graduate degree in Law, Finance, Financial Services, Risk Management or an equivalent professional qualification (e.g., ACAMS).
• 1.5–3 years of experience in a similar risk or compliance role, preferably within financial services or CSPs.
• Strong knowledge of applicable industry laws and regulations.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Attention to detail and ability to interpret legal documents.
