Room Technician

About the role

The Room Technician ensures guest safety and satisfaction by promptly addressing repair requests in guest rooms at a luxury resort. You will work closely with the engineering team to maintain high standards of comfort, functionality, and environmental responsibility.

Key responsibilities

• Address guest safety concerns and resolve issues quickly to ensure complete satisfaction.
• Execute preventive maintenance tasks according to the hotel schedule.
• Maintain and store all tools provided by the hotel in a professional manner.
• Perform engineering work in guest rooms, including plunging toilets, unclogging drains, and repairing hardware, lighting, sockets, and A/C systems.
• Test, troubleshoot, and carry out basic repairs on all types of guest‑room equipment.
• Follow oral and written instructions from the Chief Engineer and respond to guest repair requests.
• Clean work areas after each task and adhere to all safety procedures.
• Communicate effectively with the Shift Leader and participate in the hotel’s energy‑conservation programs.
• Recommend environmentally‑friendly products and suggest cost‑saving ideas across the engineering department.

Required profile

• Middle or secondary education; additional training or certificates in a relevant field are a plus.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in the hotel industry, preferably in a top‑luxury resort.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, adapt to unpredictable events, and maintain clear communication.
• Fluency in English (or another language) for written and verbal communication.

Required skills

• Knowledge of equipment operation and fault diagnosis.
• Ability to perform plumbing repairs (toilets, drains).
• Electrical repair skills, including lighting, sockets, and A/C systems.
• Experience with preventive maintenance scheduling and execution.
• Use of environmentally‑friendly products and participation in energy‑conservation initiatives.
