Senior BI & Data Warehousing Developer

About the role

Spoon Consulting Ltd is seeking a Senior BI & Data Warehousing Developer to strengthen its Data & Analytics practice. The role involves designing modern Business Intelligence solutions, building enterprise data warehouses, and delivering Power BI dashboards that enable strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain enterprise Business Intelligence solutions using Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.
• Design and implement scalable data warehouses, data marts and semantic models.
• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines with SSIS, Microsoft Fabric Data Factory or equivalent tools.
• Build interactive Power BI dashboards and executive reports using DAX, Power Query and advanced data‑modelling techniques.
• Integrate data from multiple sources such as SQL Server, Oracle, Dynamics 365 Business Central, ERP systems, cloud applications and APIs.
• Perform data cleansing, transformation and validation to ensure data quality and consistency.
• Configure and maintain Power BI Service workspaces, gateways, security settings and Row‑Level Security.
• Collaborate with business users to gather requirements and translate them into scalable analytical solutions.
• Produce technical documentation, user guides and data models.
• Participate in solution demonstrations, proof‑of‑concepts and pre‑sales activities.
• Contribute to BI governance, performance optimisation and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing or analytics development.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Power BI, DAX, Power Query, SQL, ETL development, data‑warehouse design and dimensional modelling (star schema).
• Python knowledge is a plus.
• Experience integrating ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Oracle or SAP.
• Good understanding of Microsoft Fabric, lakehouse concepts and modern analytics architectures (e.g., Snowflake/Data Cloud).
• Experience with Power BI Service administration, gateways, deployment and security.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging business stakeholders.
• Experience working in Agile project environments.
