Senior System Engineer

About the role

International Card Processing Services Ltd (ICPS) is seeking a Senior System Engineer to take full ownership of its critical server, virtualization, storage, backup and disaster‑recovery infrastructure that supports global payment operations. The role requires a highly autonomous professional who can ensure reliability, security and continuous improvement while providing technical leadership and driving automation.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and optimise IBM AIX, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Oracle Linux and VMware environments, including capacity planning and health checks.
• Manage core platforms such as Dell Storage (SAN/NAS), IBM Power and HP servers, and tape libraries, overseeing lifecycle, firmware and vendor support.
• Operate high‑availability, backup and DR solutions (Veritas Cluster Server, NetBackup, Veeam, RecoverPoint) and lead DR simulations, failover/failback testing, ensuring RTO/RPO compliance.
• Support Active Directory, SMTP/messaging services, monitoring tools (Zabbix, Centreon) and middleware (JBoss, Oracle WebLogic).
• Lead patch and vulnerability management, enforce system hardening and security standards, and assist with audits and incident investigations.
• Design and maintain automation scripts to reduce manual effort and improve resilience.
• Provide Level 2/3 support, lead root‑cause analysis, and manage incidents, problems and changes, including on‑call duties.
• Maintain accurate documentation, asset inventories and contribute to infrastructure projects.

Required profile

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of systems and infrastructure administration experience, preferably in a senior role.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with Linux/Unix (IBM AIX, RHEL, Oracle Linux) and VMware.
• Solid experience with storage, backup, high‑availability and disaster‑recovery solutions.
• Working knowledge of Active Directory, monitoring tools, middleware and patch/vulnerability management.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation.
