Studio Manager – Administration (Mauritius)

About the role
We are looking for a Studio Manager to oversee daily operations of our Mauritius studio. The role ensures a productive environment where creativity can thrive while supporting staff and coordinating with our US headquarters.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee daily studio operations to maintain a productive and efficient work environment.
- Support, mentor, and coach studio staff to foster a collaborative, team‑focused culture.
- Work with IT to keep an accurate inventory of equipment and ensure new hires are set up for success.
- Manage local financial transactions and report regularly to the Head of Operations in the US.
- Act as the primary liaison between the Mauritius studio and US headquarters, representing team interests and resolving operational challenges.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with vendors, office lease partners, and suppliers.
- Address staff inquiries related to office management, equipment, supplies, and facilities.
- Coordinate cleaning, security, and catering services to maintain a well‑kept workspace.
- Authorize payments and keep organized records of receipts, inventory, and key documentation.
- Oversee payroll processing with HR/Finance to ensure timely, accurate compensation.
- Represent Steamroller at local job fairs and events, handling promotional materials and logistics.
- Contribute to team efforts and perform additional tasks to support studio goals as needed.
Required profile
- Minimum 5 years of experience in operations, office, or studio management.
- In‑depth knowledge of Mauritius labour laws and employment standards.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with a focus on team development.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Proactive, resourceful, and strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
- Detail‑oriented with high organisational skills.
- Familiarity with business operations across Accounting, HR, Finance, Legal, and IT.
