About the role

Amentum is looking for a Supply Technician Transportation to support a unique U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role focuses on researching, sourcing, and tracking parts for government‑owned vehicles and equipment, ensuring maintenance operations run smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough parts research using manufacturer breakdowns, military technical orders, and other resources.
• Interpret technical documents, schematics, and manuals to recommend suitable replacement parts.
• Maintain an organized catalog of parts research and documentation, updating it as inventory or specifications change.
• Assist in tracking and expediting parts orders to minimize maintenance delays.
• Collaborate with maintenance staff to resolve availability or compatibility issues.
• Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and government procurement standards.
• Prepare and submit reports on parts research, procurement activity, and outstanding orders.
• Train staff on interpreting manufacturer and military technical orders.
• Maintain detailed inventory control for parts research and procurement activities.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience in supply, logistics, or parts research for vehicles and equipment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and parts breakdowns.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to maintain accurate records for part research and procurement.
• Compliance with occupational safety and health standards.
