Transportation Program Manager (US Navy, Diego Garcia)

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Transportation Program Manager to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. The role is responsible for managing and coordinating the planning, execution, scheduling, and routing of all freight shipments via land, sea, and air transportation resources.

Key responsibilities

• Manage Transportation, Material Handling Equipment (MHE), Movement Control, Arrival/Departure Airfield Control Group, Container Management, and Motor Pool Operations.
• Work closely with project and construction management staff to develop plans, policies, and procedures for project transportation support.
• Ensure transportation sections comply with contract requirements.
• Facilitate effective communications throughout the transportation organization.
• Cross‑level assets using on‑hand personnel and assets to cover surge and demobilization requirements.
• Develop or train personnel on all aspects of logistics, as needed.
• Perform other job‑related duties consistent with the nature and level of the position.

Required profile

• Minimum eight years of experience in military transportation centers/facilities, with at least two years in an OCONUS/combat‑zone management role.
• Minimum three years of experience as a Director or Manager in charge of operations.
• Well‑versed in operational, maintenance, and administration functions of an industrial/commercial transportation program.
• Proven experience with military transportation automated systems, civilian transportation management, and cargo tracking systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
• Valid passport (minimum one‑year validity) and ability to obtain required visas and facility credentials.
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements and maintain them for the deployment duration.
• Valid country driver’s license and English proficiency sufficient for contract performance and emergency procedures.
