Treasury Operations Manager and Product Control

About the role

The Treasury Operations Consultant is a key specialist within the Operations function, responsible for enforcing controls over all treasury‑related activities and supporting the launch of new treasury products. The role ensures operational readiness, strong governance and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee end‑to‑end Treasury Operations including trade capture, confirmations, settlements, payments and reconciliations.
• Maintain and monitor Treasury nostro accounts, resolve outstanding items and settlement breaks.
• Lead operational readiness for new Treasury products, ensuring systems, processes, controls and staff training are in place.
• Produce and validate daily Treasury P&L reports, perform independent valuation and price verification of derivatives and other products.
• Conduct balance‑sheet and P&L reconciliations between Treasury systems, accounting records and the general ledger.
• Support internal and external audits, remediate findings and monitor operational risk.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, Economics or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of banking operations experience with strong exposure to treasury products (FX, swaps, money market, fixed income, derivatives).
• Demonstrated people‑management experience leading a small team.
• Good understanding of Bank of Mauritius guidelines and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Experience supporting new product launches and implementing process improvements.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of treasury systems and settlement processes.
• Expertise in reconciliation and investigation of treasury transactions.
• Familiarity with ISO SWIFT message standards (e.g., FXTR.014).
• In‑depth knowledge of treasury products: FX, swaps, money‑market, fixed‑income and derivatives.
• Ability to perform independent valuation, price verification and P&L analysis.
