Account Officer

About the role

The Account Officer role at CEMENTIS (Mauritius) is a full-time, on‑site position based in Port Louis. You will be responsible for preparing, reviewing and reconciling financial records and supporting the finance team in month‑end close and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and reconcile financial records, including bank reconciliation and VAT returns.
• Assist with monthly closures and support the preparation of financial statements.
• Maintain accurate accounting entries and ensure compliance with internal controls and regulations.
• Assist with audits and reporting to management.
• Coordinate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and contribute to process improvements.

Required profile

• Strong finance and accounting knowledge with practical experience on financial statements.
• Analytical, customer service and communication skills.
• Attention to detail, strong organizational abilities and capacity to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Reliability, integrity and a collaborative approach, with ability to work on‑site in Port Louis.
• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; ACCA certification or progress toward it is an asset.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
• Familiarity with ERP systems.
