Accounts Officer

About the role

The Accounts Officer will join ABC Foods' finance team in Trianon, Mauritius, working full‑time on‑site. You will be responsible for accurate recording, reviewing and reconciling of financial transactions, supporting the company’s extensive FMCG portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices and maintain supporting documentation for payments.
• Prepare bank payment instructions, including foreign‑exchange transactions, and update the FX tracker.
• Monitor accounts payable and receivable balances, following up on outstanding items.
• Assist in cash‑flow management to ensure timely payments.
• Update product costing schedules and perform cost analysis.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, reconciliations and financial reports.
• Record financial transactions accurately and perform bank reconciliations.
• Conduct periodic fixed‑asset and inventory counts and maintain related records.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities and internal/external audits.

Required profile

• Good finance knowledge with strong attention to detail.
• At least ACCA Level 2 or a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast‑paced, on‑site environment.
• Familiarity with relevant accounting standards and tax regulations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Advanced MS Excel skills, including spreadsheets, reconciliations and basic reporting.
