Administrative Specialist – MSC Riding Gang (Maritime Operations)

About the role

Amentum is seeking an Administrative Specialist to serve as the primary coordination point for the MSC Riding Gang supporting maintenance and repair activities aboard MSC vessels. The role is based on Diego Garcia and involves close interaction with ship leadership, Amentum management, and U.S. government stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate onboarding, travel, documentation, and crew‑list requirements for Riding Gang personnel in line with U.S. Coast Guard and MSC regulations.
• Maintain personnel records, safety certifications, background checks, and training documentation.
• Track work assignments, labor hours, and project progress while vessels are underway or in port.
• Prepare accurate logs, reports, and administrative documentation related to operations, compliance, and mission support.
• Support scheduling of maintenance activities and align efforts between Riding Gang supervisors, ship leadership, and Amentum management.
• Assist with procurement requests, material tracking, and logistical coordination for tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Provide regular updates to leadership on personnel status, operational impacts, and administrative requirements.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in administrative support, maritime operations, or maintenance coordination.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in administration, logistics, or maritime operations is preferred.
• Valid passport (minimum one year beyond hire date) and ability to travel internationally.
• Ability to meet contract medical requirements and obtain necessary facility credentials.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain country‑specific visas as required.
