About the role
The Application Owner – Open Banking is accountable for the end‑to‑end performance, stability and evolution of Absa’s Open Banking platforms. You will ensure that the applications are secure, resilient and scalable while delivering high‑quality digital services that meet business and customer expectations.
Key responsibilities
- Take full ownership of availability, performance and stability of Open Banking applications.
- Define, monitor and improve Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators.
- Implement continuous monitoring, manage alerts and drive rapid incident resolution.
- Oversee incident and change management processes, including root‑cause analysis and remediation.
- Ensure platforms are designed for high availability, resilience and disaster recovery, meeting regulatory standards.
- Maintain up‑to‑date application documentation and ensure audit readiness.
- Manage patching and vulnerability remediation in line with group security policies.
- Coordinate with third‑party suppliers and service providers supporting Open Banking capabilities.
Required profile
- Proven experience in application ownership or platform management within a banking or financial services environment.
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, risk frameworks and security standards.
- Leadership skills to guide cross‑functional teams through the full application lifecycle.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with a focus on proactive service improvement.
