Assistant Manager - Shared Services

About the role

The Assistant Manager in the Shared Services team will support the Shared Services Manager by overseeing financial reporting, bookkeeping and compliance for a portfolio of clients. This hybrid, permanent position requires strong accounting expertise and the ability to mentor junior staff while ensuring high‑quality financial deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Review and analyse financial statements in line with IFRS, GAAP and other applicable standards.
• Prepare client deliverables such as portfolio valuations, trial balances, bookkeeping records and financial statements.
• Assist and supervise monthly, quarterly and annual close processes, including journal entry reviews and reconciliations.
• Oversee general ledger activities and manage consolidation work for complex entities.
• Maintain and improve internal controls over financial reporting and bookkeeping.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to gather and interpret financial data.
• Respond to audit queries, liaise with auditors and ensure timely audit completion.
• Ensure tax filing, regulatory compliance and adherence to company policies.
• Mentor team members, promote continuous learning and resolve client queries promptly.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and perform ad‑hoc financial analysis.

Required profile

• ACCA fully or partially qualified (or equivalent).
• Minimum 7 years of accounting experience, including 1‑2 years in a supervisory or review role.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational and analytical skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Understanding of consolidation processes.
