Bartender

About the role

MEDINE GROUP is looking for a Bartender for its Tamarina Golf & Spa Boutique Hotel. The Bartender prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to guests in restaurants, bars and outside catering events, keeping the bar clean and well stocked and ensuring efficient, prompt and courteous service.

Key responsibilities

• Mix drinks, cocktails and other bar beverages according to the hotel's standard recipes.
• Assess guests' needs and preferences and make recommendations.
• Keep the mise-en-place and cleanliness of all beverage outlets ready for guests.
• Build a rapport with regular customers and promote sales to increase profitability.
• Take part in inventory taking and control beverage stock, including requisitioning fruit orders.
• Check guests' identification to ensure they meet age requirements for alcohol and tobacco.
• Respond promptly to guest comments and suggestions and pass them on to the F&B Outlet Assistant Manager.
• Follow the hotel's rules, regulations and quality standards, and comply with health and safety, HACCP and food and beverage standards.

Required profile

• School Certificate or equivalent, or National Certificate Level 3 (NC3) in restaurant and bar service or equivalent.
• Valid Food Handler Certificate.
• At least 2 years' experience as a bar waiter in a hotel is an advantage.
• Fluent in English and French.
• Polite, courteous, outgoing and pleasant, with good human contact.
