Canteen Cook

About the role

MEDINE GROUP is looking for a Canteen Cook for its Tamarina Golf & Spa Boutique Hotel. The cook prepares, cooks and serves meals for employees according to the established menus, recipes and hygiene standards, while keeping the kitchen and serving areas clean and well stocked.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals, snacks and beverages for staff according to the menu and schedule, and carry out daily mise en place.
• Serve meals and beverages to employees at the specified times, ensuring correct portioning and food handling.
• Monitor food temperatures and follow procedures for cooking, chilling, reheating and holding.
• Keep the canteen, kitchen, storage and preparation areas clean and organized, and wash and sanitize utensils, equipment and workstations.
• Store food properly, rotate stock and report shortages, damaged equipment or maintenance issues to the Supervisor.
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries, deep cleaning and follow food safety, hygiene, health and fire regulations.
• Use food economically, minimize waste and work with the kitchen and canteen team.
• Stay up to date on the daily menu and special dietary requirements, and follow recipes and instructions from the Supervisor or Management.

Required profile

• Valid Food Handler Certificate.
• Proven experience in the kitchen department.
• Strong passion for food design, creativity and a good sense of presentation.
• Proactive, professional attitude with strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
