Chef De Rang - Tamarina Golf & Spa Boutique Hotel

About the role

MEDINE GROUP is looking for a Chef De Rang to join its Tamarina Golf & Spa Boutique Hotel. The role supervises and coordinates the activities of waiters and cleaners in the restaurant and during outside catering functions, so that guests receive efficient and prompt service. It calls for attention to detail, efficiency and a commitment to excellent service.

Key responsibilities

• Receive instructions from the restaurant manager and supervisor on daily planning and organisation.
• Check waiters' appearance and prepare their daily plans, ensuring tasks are carried out.
• Keep the workplace and mise-en-place clean and ready for guests.
• Welcome guests, direct them to their seats, present the menu and wine card, advise on choices and promote sales.
• Supervise waiters to ensure prompt, fast and courteous service, and make sure billing and ordering rules are followed.
• Gather guest feedback and report complaints and comments to the immediate superior.
• Handle materials and equipment carefully, take part in inventory and report faults in lights, fans and toilets.
• Train waiters on the job and promote teamwork and responsibility.

Required profile

• School Certificate or equivalent.
• National Certificate Level 3 (NC3) in Restaurant and Bar Service or equivalent.
• Valid Food Handler Certificate.
• At least 2 years' experience as Chef De Rang in a hotel is an advantage.
• Fluent in English and French.
• Flexible to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
