Cloud Security Engineer

About the role

Join SD Worx as a Cloud Security Engineer and take charge of protecting both on‑premise and public cloud environments. You will work primarily with Azure, while also supporting AWS and occasional GCP workloads, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the security subject‑matter expert for hybrid cloud environments, advising on secure architecture and risk‑reduction strategies.
• Monitor and improve cloud security posture using CNAPP, CSPM and vulnerability‑management tools across Azure, AWS and GCP.
• Identify misconfigurations, vulnerabilities and infrastructure weaknesses, and drive remediation with technical teams.
• Own the full vulnerability‑management lifecycle: discovery, risk assessment, prioritisation, remediation tracking and validation.
• Operate and optimise platforms such as Rapid7 InsightVM, InsightCloudSec, Qualys, Tenable or similar.
• Develop security standards, hardening guides and implementation recommendations for cloud and infrastructure teams.
• Support secure deployment of cloud‑native technologies, containers, Infrastructure as Code and DevSecOps practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to communicate findings clearly and ensure timely remediation.
• Drive continuous improvement through automation, reporting enhancements and AI‑assisted workflows.

Required profile

• 5‑7+ years of experience in cloud security, security engineering or vulnerability management.
• Strong knowledge of Azure security services; exposure to AWS and/or GCP is required.
• Hands‑on experience with CSPM, CNAPP and cloud governance.
• Proven track record using vulnerability‑management platforms (Rapid7, Qualys, Tenable, Nessus, etc.).
• Solid understanding of Windows, Linux, networking, identity & access management, authentication protocols and encryption.
