Club and Activities Manager

About the role

The Club and Activities Manager oversees the daily operations of a Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) facility, combining fitness programming with bar and food service. Reporting to senior MWR leadership, the role ensures a safe, welcoming environment for service members and guests.

Key responsibilities

• Provide exercise guidance, testing, prescription, and lead group fitness classes.
• Mix and serve alcoholic beverages according to established recipes while adhering to age and safety regulations.
• Manage bar inventory, ordering, and point‑of‑sale (POS) transactions, including cash handling and drawer reconciliation.
• Maintain sanitation standards for bar tools, glassware, and equipment in compliance with legal and Army requirements.
• Open and close the bartending station, ensuring all equipment is functional.
• Supervise staff to deliver high‑quality customer service and handle intoxicated patrons per guidelines.
• Coordinate special events, ensuring adequate supplies and staffing.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by MWR leadership.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years of experience coordinating team sports, recreation clubs, or social events.
• MWR or armed‑forces recreation experience preferred.
• Physical ability to work in remote, potentially uncomfortable conditions with long hours and exposure to weather.
• CPR and first‑aid certification preferred.
