Compressed Air Systems Operator

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Compressed Air Systems Operator to support a U.S. Navy program on the remote island of Diego Garcia. The role involves operating, monitoring, and performing basic maintenance on compressed air systems to ensure reliable delivery for mission‑critical operations.

Key responsibilities

• Start, stop, and monitor compressors, dryers, receivers, and related equipment.
• Conduct routine inspections, record system pressures, performance data, and log operational information.
• Identify abnormal conditions, respond to alarms, and notify maintenance or supervisory personnel.
• Perform housekeeping, preventive maintenance tasks, minor troubleshooting, and support system testing.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational protocols in a remote, team‑oriented environment.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience operating or supporting compressed air, industrial, or utility systems.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts or on‑call schedules.
• Valid passport (minimum one year) and ability to obtain required visas and pass medical requirements.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of compressors and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read gauges, meters, and basic technical documentation.
• Equipment monitoring and basic maintenance skills.
