About the role

MEDINE GROUP is looking for a Cook to join its Tamarina Golf & Spa Boutique Hotel. The Cook prepares, cooks and presents food according to established recipes, quality standards and hygiene procedures, keeping the kitchen clean and organised and supporting the smooth operation of the assigned kitchen section.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation and cooking as required.
• Prepare the counter to the standards set by the Head Cook.
• Serve all food and beverages at the specified times.
• Follow recipes, methods and instructions from the supervisor strictly.
• Know the daily menu, including garnishes and portions, and check food temperatures, chilling, reheating and holding.
• Wash up light equipment in the servery and kitchen, collect and move dirty prep equipment.
• Clean the kitchen, store rooms, floors and walls, and carry out deep cleans as specified by management.
• Maintain hygiene standards and follow company policy on customer complaints.
• Comply with health and safety regulations and fire policy, and report hazards to management.

Required profile

• Diploma from a recognised culinary institution.
• Valid Food Handler Certificate.
• Proven experience in the kitchen department.
• Strong passion for food design, creativity and presentation.
• Proactive, professional attitude with strong interpersonal skills and a service-oriented mindset.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to work in a team.
