Demi Chef de Partie – Kitchen Pastry

About the role

Constance Prince Maurice, a luxury resort in Mauritius, is looking for a motivated Demi Chef de Partie to support the Chef de Partie in the pastry kitchen. The role involves preparing high‑quality dishes, maintaining standards, and contributing to an exceptional guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Chef de Partie in managing the assigned kitchen section.
• Prepare and cook food items according to hotel recipes and standards.
• Ensure mise‑en‑place is ready before service and maintain food quality, taste, and presentation.
• Supervise and guide Commis Chefs when required.
• Control wastage, assist in stock management and follow FIFO storage practices.
• Adhere to HACCP, hygiene and safety standards at all times.

Required profile

• Certificate or Diploma in Culinary Arts or equivalent.
• Minimum 1–2 years experience in a similar hotel or restaurant position.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Flexible to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.

Required skills

• Knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards.
• Proficiency in food preparation, storage, and rotation (FIFO).
