Development Manager

About the role

We are looking for a senior Development Manager to lead the origination, concept development, feasibility assessment and planning of new projects within the Ferney estate. Reporting to the Head of Business Unit, you will shape developments from early ideas through to investment‑ready business cases and implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, originate and evaluate new development opportunities across the Ferney estate in line with the long‑term strategic vision.
• Lead the creation of project concepts together with architects, planners and technical consultants.
• Oversee feasibility studies to ensure projects are commercially viable, sustainable and market‑aligned.
• Conduct detailed market research and financial modelling, including development appraisals and sensitivity analyses.
• Prepare and present comprehensive, investment‑ready business cases to internal decision‑makers.
• Identify, assess and manage development risks, implementing effective mitigation strategies.
• Manage statutory and regulatory processes, including planning applications and approvals.
• Lead engagement and negotiations with public authorities such as the Economic Development Board, ministries and district councils.
• Structure and negotiate strategic partnerships, joint ventures and MOUs with investors and operators.
• Coordinate internal teams and external advisors throughout the early stages of the development lifecycle.

Required profile

• Degree in Property Development, Real Estate, Business Administration, Architecture, Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in development management, real estate investment or advisory roles.
• Proven ability to originate and drive development projects from concept through to investment and implementation.
• Strong financial and analytical expertise with experience building and reviewing development appraisals.
