Facultative Placement Specialist – Reinsurance

About the role

The Facultative Placement Specialist will coordinate end‑to‑end facultative reinsurance placements, securing capacity on competitive terms and within required timelines while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Review and coordinate facultative reinsurance placement requests.
• Negotiate with brokers and reinsurers to secure appropriate terms.
• Prepare and manage placement submissions and related documentation.
• Maintain accurate placement records and ensure data completeness in systems.
• Monitor placements, follow up on outstanding matters, and anticipate market trends.
• Identify opportunities to enhance reinsurance capacity and support process improvements.

Required profile

• Degree or professional qualification in Insurance, Reinsurance, Risk Management, Finance, Business or related field.
• Relevant experience in insurance, underwriting, reinsurance, broking or facultative placement.
• Strong negotiation, communication, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational and follow‑up skills.
• Ability to manage multiple placements, work within governance controls and meet turnaround times.
