Firefighter – Emergency Rescue & Fire Suppression

About the role

The Firefighter protects lives and property by responding to fires, vehicle accidents, natural disasters, and hazardous material incidents. This position requires rapid decision‑making, physical stamina, and teamwork in high‑stress environments.

Key responsibilities

• Perform search, rescue, and fire‑fighting operations for fires, accidents, floods, bomb incidents, and chemical spills.
• Operate emergency response vehicles, hand and power tools, ladders, hoses, pumps, foam generators, and specialized nozzles.
• Connect hoses to hydrants and pump apparatus, manage water‑charged lines of various sizes, and conduct salvage and overhaul to limit damage.
• Participate in station drills, emergency‑procedure training, and hazardous‑materials response.
• Maintain equipment, respond to emergencies on short notice, and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of fire‑fighting experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree preferred.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Fire Fighter II, Hazardous Materials Operations, ARFF, IFSAC/DOD/Pro‑Board).
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain state‑issued certifications.
• Physical capability to perform interior structural firefighting and work in remote, adverse conditions.
