General Manager Designate

About the role

Our client, a leading independent marketing and communications agency, is seeking a General Manager Designate to lead the business through a structured succession plan. Over the next few years you will master every aspect of the agency, shape its strategic direction, and drive sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Run the agency day‑to‑day operations
• Own the commercial performance and profitability
• Maintain and deepen client relationships
• Lead business development initiatives
• Manage and develop the people team
• Define and implement the agency’s future vision

Required profile

• Minimum ten years of senior management experience, preferably in advertising, marketing, media, communications or a similarly fast‑paced client‑facing industry
• Strong commercial acumen and a track record of delivering results
• Ability to attract and retain high‑value clients (client gravity)
• Respect within creative circles and a solid understanding of creative processes
• Natural leadership instincts and a strategic mindset
• Fluency in English and French
