Head of Laundry – Luxury Resort

About the role

We are looking for an experienced and organised Head of Laundry to lead the laundry department of our luxury resort in Mauritius. You will be responsible for delivering the highest standards of cleanliness, quality and efficiency to support our guests' experience.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily laundry operations including washing, drying, pressing and folding of linens and guest garments.
• Lead, supervise and motivate the laundry team, providing clear direction, performance feedback and development opportunities.
• Establish and maintain rigorous quality‑control standards.
• Manage inventory of linens, chemicals and supplies, minimizing waste.
• Maintain industrial laundry equipment, coordinating repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Develop efficient scheduling systems to meet operational and guest demands.
• Monitor departmental budgets and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Conduct staff induction and training programmes.
• Liaise with other departments to understand specific laundry requirements.
• Maintain detailed operational records and promote sustainable laundry practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing laundry operations in hospitality or large‑scale commercial environments.
• Demonstrated leadership ability to supervise and motivate teams.
• Strong organisational and time‑keeping skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Thorough understanding of health, safety and environmental regulations relevant to laundry operations.
• Attention to detail and commitment to high quality standards.
• Problem‑solving mindset and proactive approach.
