HR Business Partner (Part‑time, On‑site)

About the role

Lavasource is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to provide hands‑on, local HR support for its growing team in Mauritius. This part‑time position works two full days per week, fully on‑site at the Ebene office, acting as the visible HR presence for employees and managers.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for day‑to‑day HR matters, offering practical guidance and an accessible office presence.
• Handle employee relations issues, including performance concerns, attendance, grievances and disciplinary matters, in collaboration with the Chief People Officer and external counsel.
• Support the rollout and local implementation of global HR strategies, policies, programs and initiatives, providing feedback and ensuring compliance with Mauritian legal requirements.
• Manage onboarding, off‑boarding and employee lifecycle activities, maintaining accurate HR records and documentation.
• Assist with employment contract preparation using approved templates and coordinate with external counsel for legal validation.
• Facilitate performance and career management processes, employee engagement, and hybrid working arrangements for the Mauritius office.

Required profile

• 10+ years of broad HR experience, preferably as an HR Business Partner, HR Manager or senior HR Generalist.
• Strong practical knowledge of the Mauritius employment environment and local HR practices.
• Excellent communication, judgement and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently on confidential matters.
• Fluent in English; French is a plus.
• Based in Mauritius and able to work two full days per week on‑site.
