Kitchen Technician

About the role

The Kitchen Technician ensures that all kitchen equipment operates smoothly and remains in optimal condition within a luxury hotel environment. You will support the kitchen team by preventing breakdowns, performing repairs, and contributing to energy‑efficient operations.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of kitchen appliances such as ranges, ovens, fryers, ice makers, freezers, dishwashers and mixers.
• Oil, lubricate, replace belts and tighten screws, nuts and bolts to keep machinery in good working order.
• Monitor daily gas consumption, record usage and reorder supplies when stock runs low.
• Maintain lighting systems in the kitchen, cold rooms and refrigeration areas.
• Implement energy‑conservation policies, track energy costs and report variances.
• Keep accurate maintenance logs, follow schedules and assist the supervisor with staff planning.
• Respond to fire‑alarm alerts and other emergencies promptly.
• Ensure the kitchen area and equipment are kept clean and presentable at all times.

Required profile

• Middle or secondary education; additional technical training or certificates are a plus.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in hotel or luxury resort kitchen maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and fault‑finding.
• Ability to work quickly in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to unpredictable situations.
• Fluent in English (or another language) with good written and verbal communication.
