Laboratory Technician

About the role

The Laboratory Technician will perform analytical work and provide technical support to ensure smooth laboratory operations. The role involves on‑site sampling, analysis of diverse matrices and maintaining quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct analysis of water, wastewater, soil, air, food, cosmetic and plant samples.
• Maintain ISO/IEC 17025‑aligned quality assurance and internal verification of equipment.
• Manage reagent stocks, prepare media, reagents and standards.
• Perform sampling, laboratory support, and equipment calibration record keeping.
• Oversee stock and equipment management and enforce health‑and‑safety practices.

Required profile

• Biology at principal level (Cambridge Higher School Certificate) or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Food Science or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in laboratory analytical work or an industrial environment.
• Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 quality standards.
• Experience in microbiology analysis of water, wastewater, soil, air, cosmetic and food samples.
• Experience in process validation and use of modern identification methods.
• Computer literacy and good interpersonal skills.
